"The universe thrives on death. It’s absolutely essential to the ongoing creativity of the universe". -Brian Swimme
Death is an essential part of life. A DeepTime perspective on death acknowledges our part in the cycle of life. When we recalibrate our sense of place within the geologic timescale, it may help us evolve a new way to think about death and to incorporate it into our living. The end of life, though heart-wrenching, can be beautiful. Talking about our mortality can be comforting, and death care can be both straightforward and healing.

The breakdown of organic matter is an essential component in the cycle that allows the death of one organism to nurture the life of another. Soil is the foundation of a healthy ecosystem. It filters water, provides nutrients to plants, sequesters carbon, and helps regulate global temperature. Organic Reduction Reduction (Human composting!) allows a literal return to the earth.. dust to dust becomes, stardust to soil.
“You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe, an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately you are not a person, but a focal point where the universe is becoming conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle.” ― Eckhart Tolle

" Fearing something is the antithesis of knowing something. Now I wake up everyday & ponder the fact that these bodies of ours were made impermanent on purpose & that purpose is so we can love our whole selves better." - Andrea Gibson

“The cosmological powers of the Universe are coursing through us moment by moment. To become aware of these powers is to touch the source of life,” ~Brian Swimme
The shorter we manage to make the Anthropocene transition, the higher the chances for life on Earth — humanity included!
the great turning is the essential adventure of of this time
Grace and The Great Turning
When you act on behalf
Of something greater than yourself,
you begin to feel it acting through you
with a power greater than your own.
This is grace.
Today, as we take risks
for the sake of something greater
than our separate, individual lives,
we are feeling graced
by other beings and by Earth itself.
Those with whom and on whose behalf we act
give us strength
and eloquence
and staying power
we didn’t know we had.
We just need to practice knowing that
and remembering that we are sustained
by each other
in the web of life.
Our true power comes as a gift, like grace,
because in truth it is sustained by others.
If we practice drawing on the wisdom
and beauty and strengths
of our fellow human beings
and our fellow species
we can go into any situation
and trust
that the courage and intelligence required
will be supplied.
